Who We Are
HIPERS is a group of like-minded community volunteer members who came together following the bushfires in our area, and took part in the Red Cross REDi-Community workshops. We saw the need to work together to strengthen our local resilience and provide practical post-disaster support for our community.
What We Do
- Support each other in times of emergency or natural disaster.
- Share skills, knowledge and resources across our community.
- Build stronger connections between residents of Houghton, Hermitage, Inglewood & Paracombe.
- Develop a local centre of support to help fill the gap in the first 72 hours after a disaster until formal services arrive (Not during an event)
Why It Matters
Emergencies and disasters can affect anyone, By working together, we can:
- Look after our families and neighbours
- Be better prepared for file, storms, power outages and other challenges.
- Recover faster, together.
