Who We Are

HIPERS is a group of like-minded volunteer community members who came together following Red Cross REDi-Community meetings. We saw the need to work together to strengthen our local resilience and provide practical post-disaster support for our community.

What We Do

* Support each other in times of emergency or natural disaster.
* Share skills, knowledge, and resources across our community.
* Build stronger connections between residents of Houghton, Hermitage, Inglewood & Paracombe.
* Develop a local centre of support to help fill the gap in the first 72 hours after a disaster until formal services arrive (Not During an Event)

Why It Matters

Emergencies and disasters can affect anyone. By working together, we can:

* Look after our families and neighbours.
* Be better prepared for fire, storms, power outages and other challenges.
* Recover faster, together.

Get Involved

We meet regularly to plan, prepare and strengthen our local community network.

This could be you!
